Solo, C Java, Jan 25 - The health condition of Indonesia`s legendary composer, Gesang, has been improving after three days of staying at the Muhammadiyah Hospital here.

He could even sing two of his famous songs, "Bengawan Solo" and "Dongengan", when Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Alex Bambang Riatmodjo visited him at the hospital on Monday.

"Gesang has started recovering now," The Muhammadiyah Hospital`s Spokesperson Bety Andriany told reporters.

The 92-year-old musician had even begun eating meal by himself. This condition was different from the one he had faced in the aftermath of his last prostate surgery, she said.

Gesang was firstly admitted to the Muhammadiyah Hospital here on January 15. "His prostate surgery was conducted on January 18.

After staying for a few days, the doctors declared him cured so that he was allowed to go home," she said.

However, on January 23, this legendary composer, who created the famous song "Bengawan Solo" (Solo River), was again admitted to the same hospital.

At that time, Gesang was picked up by an ambulance soon after his relatives called the hospital`s paramedics telling them about his health condition.

He was put in the hospital`s emergency room and the paramedics gave him an infusion and oxygen pipe.

Gesang was brought back to the hospital after refusing to eat. "He throws up all the food he is fed with," a doctor said.

"An internist is now taking care of him," he said.

On January 16, Gesang was also taken to the hospital after complaining about pains when urinating. Doctors found out that the pains he suffered were related to a prostate problem.

Gesang`s ever-green song, "Bengawan Solo" is not only popular in Indonesia but also in other countries such as Japan and the Netherlands.
